Children's Developmental Disability Services

  • We work with your child by seeing their strengths first and recognizing that every child learns and grows in their own way. Our approach is individualized, meaning we adapt activities, communication, and supports to meet your child’s specific needs. We focus on building trusting relationships, encouraging inclusion, and helping children communicate in ways that work best for them. We understand that behavior is a form of communication, so we respond with patience and support rather than punishment. We collaborate closely with families, value your insight, and are committed to creating a safe, respectful environment where your child can build skills, confidence, and independence.

  • Developmental Services are a combination of intervention, education, and support services for children who have been assessed and diagnosed as having a chronic developmental disability that appears before the age of 22 and is attributable to an impairment such as:

    • Intellectual disability

    • Cerebral Palsy

    • Epilepsy

    • Autism Spectrum

    • Other closely related or similar condition.

These impairments must result in functional limitations in self-care, receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living or economic self-sufficiency.

  • The purpose of developmental services is to teach individuals with developmental disabilities and their families the skills to adapt to their daily life and gain the highest level of independence they can achieve.
